Getting started

Authentication

Every request to the Bumi Digital API must include an API key. This page describes how to create a key, how to attach it to your requests, and best practices for keeping it safe.

Create an API Key

Open the Settings → Profile page in the Bumi Digital dashboard and click the New API Key button. You will be prompted to complete three simple steps:

  1. Provide a descriptive name for the key (e.g. "Production App", "Development", "Testing").
  2. Click Create Key to generate a unique API key.
  3. Copy the generated API key. The format is always bd_xxxxxxxxxxxx.

Authorization Header

Include your API key in the Authorization header of every request using the Bearer scheme:

http
Authorization: Bearer bd_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Example Request

A simple authenticated request looks like this:

bash
curl -X GET https://bumi.digital/api/v1/credits \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Security Tips

  • Store your API key in environment variables, never in source code or version control.
  • Never share your API key publicly (screenshots, forum posts, client-side code).
  • Rotate keys periodically and revoke keys you no longer use.
  • Use different keys for development, staging, and production environments.
